“I’m completely done with all the guitar tracks for the album,
and I feel that this is easily my best studio performance ever.
A big steak and lots of red wine will be the reward for today’s work.”

We’re more than half-way through the recording and this week we have started with the vocals, alternating with solos and lead guitars. The pieces are slowly being put into place. Sounds pretty good so far.

“Finally, 10 tracks of thundering low-end bass have been added to the production. Make sure to have a nice subwoofer plugged in when you listen to the new album!
If Thor ever decides to step down from his throne, I’m ready for the job with my bass. And then something about redwine and meat etc. etc.”

Started recording bass today. First part of the day went to sound check and after finding the heavy bass sound we wanted Ted nailed two songs before calling it a night.

“Halfway through the rythm guitars and we are extremly happy with the guitar sound.
Recording is going smoothly and the wibe is great.
These Krank amps are awesome for our sound, heavy as Thors hammer.

Today we started checking the guitar sound and different guitars.
We use a Krank, Krankenstein amp and a selection of Gibson guitars.
The goal is of course to make the guitars heavier and rawer but still have the trademark Amon Amarth sound.
We are going to start nail down the rythm guitars after the weekend.

Today I finished the last of my drum parts, and I’m extremely happy about the result! The sound is great, totally in your face! I also tried out some new ideas playing wise and I feel that i pushed my drumming to a new level. Big thanks to Damin for all his work!

May 3

We’ve recorded the drum tracks for 4 songs so far and it’s sounding pretty good! What we do when we record the drums is to first record the song once with both guitars and a metronome. Fredrik can then have that in his monitors when he record the son

May 1 - Day one

We started the day by packing the bus at 7 in the morning with all the drums, amps and guitars and headed for Örebro. Once arrived around 9.30 we reacquainted ourselves with Jens and the surrounding. The most of the day was spent trying out cymbals and different snares - we had 8 to choose from, and checking the sound.
